  • Swimming star Corrie Scott is heading for a Commonwealth Games training camp in Fuerteventura

Strathaven swimming star Corrie Scott is stepping up her preparations for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in October, and this week set off for a training camp in Fuerteventura ahead of the games.

Writing on the Strathaven Academy Pupil Support Blog, Corrie said: "On the 23rd of August I am going to a training camp on the Canary Island of Fuertaventura. This lasts until the 3rd of September. This is a camp which brings together other Commonwealth Games squad team members.

"I then travel to Doha in Qatar on the 22nd of September to the Commonwealth holding camp and will then travel to Delhi on the 30th September for the Commonwealth Games. I will be in India until the 16th October competing in the 50m breaststroke and hopefully two other events."
