Strathaven Probus Club get in tune for new year
12 JanuaryThe first meeting of the New Year at Strathaven Probus Club took the form of a Musical Mixed Bag presented by club member Ken Gray.
The pieces Ken played to his audience were an eclectic mixture of choral and orchestral music but all were rhythmic and melodic.
Ken presented several pieces which, although little known, made a deep impression on his audience. Ken described these variously as, evocative of moonlight, pure escapism, harmonic, and one of the finest melodies ever written.
After the usual break for refreshments, Ken fielded some searching questions from members about his mucical tastes. These he coped with admirably drawing on his wide-ranging knowledge of "his type of music". The vote of thanks was delivered by Sceretary John Duncan.
