Sky's the limit for this year's Strathaven Balloon Festival

  • Strathaven Balloon Festival 2010 takes to the skies from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th August

The 2010 Strathaven Balloon Festival lifts off on Friday 27th August, for a weekend of airborne action, and plenty of activities and entertainment on the ground too!

The festival, now in its 11th year is the only one of its kind in Scotland is one of the largest in the UK, and combines the great sight of hot air balloons with Saturday and Sunday Fun Days, so that there's something for all the family to enjoy.

This year the balloons will be arriving on Friday evening - when they will be taking to the air, weather permitting. The balloons on show will include the new BT 2012 Olympics Balloon.

Admission is free - for a full list of events visit the festival website - and be sure to pick up a programme in local shops.

This year's Souvenir Programme is available for £1 in many local shops. Look carefully for the Strathaven Balloon Festival stamp - if you see it, you have won a prize!
