In the 'Area and History' section of s1strathaven you can now enjoy some exclusive extracts from Bob Currie's new book - 'Strathaven Home Front News 1914-1918', which delves into the archives of the Hamilton Advertiser to uncover some fascinating stories from Strathaven during the first world war.

Over the next few weeks, we'll be posting more extracts and photos from the book, which is now on sale priced £12 from the Computer Shop and Craigs Newsagents in aid of the 'Help for Heroes' and Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association.
