Plans for 500 new homes near Strathaven go online

There’s just a week left in the consultation period on the plans for nearly 500 new homes to be built on farmland at East Overton near Strathaven.

The application has been submitted to South Lanarkshire Council, and the area has been marked as a ‘residential masterplan site’ in the Local Plan. The massive development over 55 acres has been submitted by Paterson Partners, with plans to develop the ground over 20 years as part of the South Lanarkshire local plan.

The first proposed phase would be of 80 houses, 40 affordable homes, indoor multi-use pitch, and infrastructure to extend the Hamilton Road Industrial Estate.
