Planning permission granted for Strathaven couple - despite objections

A Strathaven couple have been granted retrospective planning permission for an extension following a meeting of the East Kilbride area committee, despite eight objections from neighbours.

Permission was granted for Dr Mark and Mrs Ruth Sargaison to build a two-storey rear extension to their Eaglesfield Crescent home as well as a timber decked area in April 2008.

But, during the building process, discrepancies were noted between the approved drawings and the development on site with elements of the extension and decking higher than approved.
