Katelyn tells tale of being first family girl in nearly a century
4 AugustA Strathaven girl has told the story of how she has become the first girl born into her family for nearly a century.
After Wester Overton pupil Katelyn MacDonald read the story of two-week old Georgie Cripps in the Daily Record in July, the first girl born in the Cripps family since 1946, Katelyn wrote to the paper to say she is the first girl in her family in 95 years.
Katelyn was born in 2001 - the previous MacDonald girl was her great-great aunt Georgina MacDonald, born in 1906.
