Call to nominate Strathaven campaigners for national awards
22 FebruarySupport our local Strathaven charities and campaigns for national awards!
That’s the call from Clydesdale MSP, Aileen Campbell who is calling for local residents to nominate a charity, individual or campaign from Avondale or Strathaven, who they believe is deserving of recognition at the Scottish Charity Awards 2012.
The aim of the awards is to recognise excellence and entries are open to all types of voluntary organisations, registered charities, social enterprises and campaigning groups. There are 5 award categories: Charity of the Year; Community Action; Partnership of the Year; Campaign of the Year and Charity Champion; and a new category the People’s Choice Award.
Aileen Campbell said: “We have fantastic charities and local groups who dedicate so much time to help others and make our communities stronger.
“I have also witnessed the passion and hard work of local residents who promote issues they believe are important to them and the area they live.
“I would encourage everyone across Avondale and Strathaven to nominate a local charity so that we can recognise the fantastic efforts of people in this area.”
