Busy day ahead at Strathaven's Agricultural Exposition
3 SeptemberThe annual Strathaven Agricultural Exposition is being held on Saturday 4th September at Over Lethame Showfield, with a great turnout of livestock and produce expected - and plenty more besides.
Last year's show was cancelled due to torrential rains, but organisers are hoping for sunshine for this year's event, with something for all the family.
As well as the usual livestock categories, there will be a competitive showjumping event, and the industrial tent with baking, handcrafts and folwer arranging, as well as children's categories.
There will also be a children's dog show at 2pm, with entries taken on the field from 1pm. Over 30 trade and craft stands will be offering a wide range of products, and ther will be entertainment from Strathaven Pipe Band, the Laing School of Irish Dancing, Morag Fraser Highland Dancers, and a sheep-shearing demonstration.
Avondale Community Bus will be running a free bus service from the Common Green to the Showfield from 10am-4.30pm.
Entry costs £3 for adults, children and OAPs £1, and cars £1.
