Bob Currie says

Here is an impromptu picture of Ruth Aiton - Strathaven's first Gala Queen

Bob Currie says

Here's a picture of Strathaven's Gala Queen of 1991 - Susan Perry with her Champion: Andrew Prentice in the presence of members of their court with Crowning Lady Jenny Kerr and Committee Chairperson: Dugald Kerr. A very handsome turnout altogether

Fiona McCluskey says

Here is a picture of 2007's gala queen Fiona McCluskey with her champion John Carruthers, just before the crowning.

George Jamieson says

Update :- 1998 Gala Champion Andrew Jamieson took a 1st Class honours degree in medicinal chemistry at the University Glasgow.

He was Dr Andrew Sutherland of Glasgow University's first Ph D student and after completing his research there he went to work with Professor Bill LeBell at the University of Montreal. He is currently post doctoral research associate of Professor Andrew Hamilton at Yale University in the USA.

Andrew presented the results of his research at the Tetrahedron conference in Paris last week. When Andrew Hamilton takes up the post of Vice-chancellor at the University of Oxford in September Andrew Jamieson will join him there.

Memories, Nostalgia & History

History doesn't have to be in black & white

Your memory of a local character or a school photo from the last ten years can be just as interesting as wars and Victorians.
