Strathaven Gala Queens - where are they now?

by Ross McKay
  • Two former Gala Queens at this year's gala - Gail Warnock (2001) and Lynn Hannah (1980)

To date, there have been 36 Strathaven Gala Queens, with this year's Queen due to be crowned on Saturday 12th June.

But where are the previous gala queens today? The very first queen, Ruth Aiton, is still involved in the gala today, as a member of the committee. But where are the other 36 now, and what have they been doing since their crowning day? If you know, or maybe you ARE one of the former gala queens, then share your memories of the big day here, and help us put together a piece of gala history. Maybe you can help...

Memories, Nostalgia & History

History doesn't have to be in black & white

Your memory of a local character or a school photo from the last ten years can be just as interesting as wars and Victorians.
