Strathaven Dynamo AFC
The club was formed in 1968 by Rangers and Scotland legend, Eric Caldow, and John Whitelaw. The club took its Dynamo name from the slightly more famous Dynamo team from Moscow.
The club has been at the heart of community football throughout over forty years and as the town has expanded so has our club.
Today one in 3 local boys of school age play with the Dynamos, and our Girls section is still in its infancy, but we hope adequate facilities will finally allow us to create several more girls teams.
Our volunteers, committee members and past Chairman have all made a fantastic contribution to our club growth and to date our recognition by the SFA in May 2008 as a Community level Quality Mark Club is our proudest achievement.
There have been a few trophies along the way over the years, and our current crop of players are all making a bigger impact in grassroots football, with the 1995's and 1997's winning their respective Lanarkshire leagues .
We have several local boys now breaking into pro-youth on an annual basis.
We are proud to have local hero & Lisbon Lion Bertie Auld as our Club Ambassador and Bertie plays an active part in the development of our club.
