Alexander Taylor (The Waterside Bakery)
Alexander Taylor is Scotland's oldest bakery, and is still owned and run by the Taylor family. Trading from the original site in the town, Barry makes some of the best breads around, including naturally leavened sour doughs and wholemeal and oatmeal (made with organic flour). Croissants, patisserie and celebration cakes are also made. All ingredients are the highest quality and Taylor's products are made with time and skill. This is a food-lover's business!
There is a delightful cafe (open 7 days), and products are sold at local Farmer's Markets.
The Flour Store Gallery has two exhibitions of art and crafts per year (May and November)
